Up to 8 12-digit lines can be shown to the user on the card, in a successive way. For example a German IBAN like DE38 2000 3501 5001 3498 01 could be shown in 2 lines (with 2 OKs by the user) as DE38 2000 3501 first (country code, check sum and bank number) and 5001 3498 01 (account number):
Note that it is a usability advantage - not a disadvantage - for the user to confirm single lines: it is easier for him to compare line-by-line. Moreover, he is better prevented from ignoring parts of the IBAN.
The leftmost 4 symbols on the display are able to show capital letters, i.e. all currency codes and all country codes can be shown on the Display-TAN card. This way, every IBAN code can be shown within 2, 3 or 4 lines, depending on the country. Below are some examples.
